Echo Lake Outfitters, LLC. is a fully licensed Saskatchewan waterfowl outfitter located within the vast farm country of central Saskatchewan. At Echo Lake Outfitters we believe the most memorable experience you can have on the Saskatchewan prairies is one in which you and your friends freelance hunt the heart of the prairie pothole region.
Echo Lake Outfitters has two lodges located within 3 miles of each other. The White House sleeps 11 and the Blue House sleeps 9. Each house is fully furnished with waterfowl paintings, waterfowl mounts, hunting memorabilia, running water bathrooms, showers, washers, dryers, all bed linens, cookware, cooking ranges, refrigerators, freezers, microwaves, toasters, gas grills, eating utensils, dining room tables, couches, telephones and satellite TV. In general each house is fully equipped to make you feel like you are hunting from your very own hunting shack.
Upon arrival at Echo Lake Outfitters you will receive your most important article for hunting waterfowl, a laminated grid map. This grid map will give you the landowners of each field within the zone you will be hunting. If you choose to stay with us at Echo Lake Outfitters you are required to get landowner permission for all of your hunts. Each house is equipped with a Suburban or Tahoe, fully enclosed trailer, field decoys, spinning wing mallards and layout blinds. You will have to rent a vehicle for transportation to and from the airport if you choose to fly-in.
Freelance hunting at Echo Lake means no GUIDES..
No one to wake you, set your decoys or tell you when to shoot.
No one to clean your birds, to hold your hand.
This is not a hunt for the beginner, in order to succeed you must know
what you are doing and be willing to work.

DWI/DUI- If you have had a DWI or DUI in the last 10 years, you may not be allowed to enter Canada by vehicle or by air. To be on the safe side you should apply for a Temporary Resident Permit. The fee is around $200.00 and there is no guarantee that the permit will be granted. The nice thing about the application is that you will know up-front if you can go on the trip or not. If you have any questions regarding this situation, please feel free to contact us and we will attempt to steer you in the right direction.
Dog Entry to Canada- To bring a dog accross the border you will need a Health Certificate from your local veteranarian. This is a simple process, but if you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Note: Please do not leave your birds in the freezer when you leave!!! Also, each group is required to get their own landowner permission to hunt. This is not a hard task. Simply call the landowner, explain who you are, where you are staying and that you had seen a lot of birds on the field you are proposing to hunt. We strongly discourage hunting open water and suggest only hunting a small pothole holding a minimal amount of birds. If you want to see thousands of birds cocooning above your blind, hunt the fields!!!
